Time travel

Here is Ellen settling into a first-class seat, where they served us a turkey sandwich and a small bag of pretzels—not even the fancy dinner pretzels, but itty-bitty pretzels:



Still, the flight was nice, comfortable, shook a lot for the first ten minutes, and only a little late. Hey, it’s vacation!

Alright, on Sunday, my brother picked us up at 8:30, after we had slept from 11:30 last night till 7am, which would normally be 7-1/2 hours, but because of Daylight Saving Time was only 6-1/2 hours. The plane departed at 10:50, flew 4 hours, and arrived at 12:50, because we went west two time zones—which meant that we were one hour closer to “body time”, that is, the time regime we enjoyed on Saturday, than we would have been had we made the same trip on another date. Rented a car, drove in rain and heavy traffic through San Francisco, made it as far as Santa Rosa, and packed it in at a hotel that featured this:
